The International Street Festival occurred on Saturday, April 5, 2025, in downtown Athens. The annual event brought students and the community together to celebrate the diverse cultures that make up the University of Georgia.
The festival kicked off at noon with dance performances, trivia and, of course, a passport. Participants could pick up the passport book from UGA International Student Life, and visit as many student organizations as they wanted to. If participants received stamps from a certain number of organizations, they won prizes.
Prizes included knickknacks, a tote bag and raffle tickets.
Organizations such as the Asian Pacific Unity Association gave out flower hair clips for community members and encouraged students to join. Persian Student Union allowed people to sit down, make bracelets and even decorate eggs as a way to blend community involvement.

Some student organizations made their own trivia, like the Arab Cultural Association, which quizzed the community on whether they could name the Arab countries from a map.
While some clubs and organizations were there to spread awareness of their presence on campus others were there encourage democratic participation. The Georgia Muslim Voter Project made an appearance by encouraging voter registration, asking imperative questions and giving out free merch.
International students make up a small percentage of the UGA community. Events like these help bridge the gap between cultural differences. International Student Life hosts multiple events each semester, all aimed at making students feel at home.
For the 26th annual event, the Athens community came together to celebrate each other.
